Move a Quizlet set here in about a minute
Quizlet lets you export a set as text with separators you choose. This reads all of them, shows you what it found, and adds nothing until you say so.
Free. Your sets stay private until you share them.
Export the set
Open the set in Quizlet and use its export option, picking whichever separators you like — a tab or a comma between term and definition, a new line or a semicolon between rows. Copy what it gives you. Quizlet's own help pages are the place to look if that menu has moved since this was written.
Paste it, or upload the file
Start a new set, press Import terms, and paste. If you saved a file instead, choose it — .csv, .tsv and .txt all work, including the UTF-16 files a spreadsheet writes, which is the format that usually arrives as gibberish elsewhere.
Check the preview before you commit
It works the separators out for itself and shows you the first rows with a count. If a definition containing a comma has been split in the wrong place, change the separator from the dropdown and watch the preview correct itself. Nothing reaches your set until you press the button.
What comes across, and what does not
Terms and definitions come across. Images, audio and your Quizlet study history do not — the first two because cards here are text, and the last because progress is recorded per person against the cards in this set.
